Structure

If you want a general overview of all Jira issues in addition to the hierarchical views "Context" and "Agile Hive Reports" included in Agile Hive, e.g. to carry out drill downs, we recommend using the Jira app "Structure for Jira".

This app can optionally be purchased via the Atlassian Marketplace. Structure is fully compatible with Agile Hive. The necessary configuration is explained below.

Admin Config: Administration → Structure → Configuration

Create Structures: Top Navigation: Structure → Create Structure

Global Configuration

As a Jira Administrator please go to: Administration → Structure → Configuration

Make sure that either structure is enabled for all projects (no further configuration needed) or for all projects within the Agile Hive Project Hierarchies (manual configuration needed in the future for every new project)

Creating the Full SAFe Hierarchy Structure

As a User who has the right to create Structures (see global configuration) please go to Structure → Create Structure.

In the Select Template Dialog select "Empty Structure" and hit Next. Now specify a name. We recommend "Full SAFe Hierarchy" or "Portfolio SAFe Hierarchy" depending on your SAFe configuration.

In the newly created Structure, click on Automation and then on the + Button. Select Filter from the fly-out navigation

Insert the following JQL and hit apply:

Now click the + Button again, select Extend from the flyout and then Linked Issues.

In the "Extend with Linked Issues" dialog set the values like this:

Hit the apply button.

Click the + Button, select Group from the flyout and then Project.

In the "Group by Issue Field" dialog set the values like this:

Hit the apply button.

Click the + Button, select Group from the flyout and then Sprint.

In the "Group by Sprint" dialog set the values like this:

Hit the apply button.

Lastly click the + Button and select Sort.

In the "GSort by Rank" dialog, set the values like this:

Hit the apply button.

If issues have been created and linked, your structure should display them in a very similar way like in the image on the left.

Extending the Full SAFe Hierarchy with Pages

If you are using the Jira app "Structure Pages" you are able to extend the created Full SAFe Hierarchy with Confluence pages.

The following steps will guide you through the configuration:

In the "Linked Pages" dialog set the values like this:

Hit the apply button.

Permissions

Please go to Structure → Manage Structure

A list of Structures appears and you are able to setup permissions per Structure by clicking on Configure.

In the "Edit Structure" dialog set the values like this:

Permissions:

  1. Control for jira-administrators
  2. View for Everyone
